Device for mounting or dismounting tyres runflat support

The unit for installing a support element (7) for emergency running into a tire (1) comprises a lifting mechanism (10) for pulling the support element into the tire opening. The vertically oriented support element is pivoted into the tire cavity (14) when the center point of its radial plane (8) lies in the horizontal radial plane (6) of the tire. An independent claim is also included for a method for installing a support element into a tyre with use of the proposed unit.
