Method for equalising cylinder output

DRIVE June 23, 2004

The cylinder equalizing process involves a first step, in throttled operation, of correcting the amount of fuel injected for each cylinder individually. Individual adaptation values are worked out for each cylinder assuming that the same amount of air is being taken into each of them, and stored. The amounts are then corrected in unthrottled running.
