Driver information system

The system has an operating unit (10) having at least two operating elements (20) and a holder unit (12) for the operating elements. The system also has a control unit for analyzing the control signals from the operating elements. The operating elements can be freely configured relative to the holder unit. Preferably each operating element has a transmitter and the control unit has an associated receiver for receiving signals from the transmitter.
