Control system for a functional unit in a motor vehicle

A control unit (14) is communicates with the functional unit (16). The control unit is adapted to process location-defining signals from a GPS system, and is capable of specifically setting the functional unit based on the GPS signals. The control system may include a receiver (12) for receiving GPS signals. The receiver may be part of a vehicle navigation system.
