Vehicle body comprises an adapter (3) supporting a bumper and attached to the end of a longitudinal beam protruding forward or rearward in the vehicle longitudinal direction. The adapter has at least one flange (5) connected with at least one curved weld seam to at least one side wall of the longitudinal beam. Preferred Features: The adapter is an extruded profile. The weld seam is MIG (metal inert gas) welded.
