Bumper beam extension (21; 121) has a polygonal cross-sectional shape, and its front end portion curves outwardly toward the front of a vehicle body. Connection plate (23; 123) is connected between the rear end of the bumper beam extension and the front end of a front side frame. The bumper beam extension (21; 121) is butt-welded to the connection plate (23; 123) with ends of ridge lines (61) of the extension fixed to the front surface of the connection plate. Upper member (17) is provided outwardly of the front side frame and curved upwardly toward the rear of the vehicle body. Connection member (28), which interconnects front-end side walls of the front side frame and upper member, is constructed of a member (91) connected to the front side frame and a member (92) connected to the upper member.
