Removable roof for a vehicle

The removable roof is positively connected to the windscreen frame by a fixing system (11) having first and second fixing devices (15,16) off-set relatively to each other vertically by a distance and which move into engagement when the roof (9) is moved in the driving direction. The first fixing device has a flange like front roof extension (17) extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle to engage underneath an outside leg wall (18) of a U-shaped socket (19) which opens towards the roof.
