Adapter mountable face to face to a motor carrier

Adapter (1) for attaching to the face of an engine support and to a front end or bumper is a shaped sheet metal part. Preferred Features: The adapter is made of high-strength sheet steel having an apparent yielding point of at least 220 N/mm2 before shaping. In the shaped regions the adapter has an apparent yielding point of over 400 N/mm2. The adapter has a flange (2) for sliding over the engine support in a form-locking manner or for inserting into the engine support. The adapter is shaped so that the wall thickness of the flange decreases toward the free end.
