Braking device for trailers with slack adjuster

The brake unit for vehicle trailers (1) has a brake releaser (5), a handbrake unit (6), and a transmission device connected to the handbrake. The transmission device is equipped with an adjusting unit (7) which keeps the transmission device under tension in the direction of pull. The brake releaser as an overrun device has a movably mounted pull rod, connected to the trailer, and a deflection lever, whereby the adjusting unit is installed at the connecting point between the deflection lever and transmission device.
