The unit has a brake lever and a force transmission unit with an elastic element to influence the transmission force to the brake. The elastic element is a control device with a decreasing force transmission characteristic curve. The control device preferably has a spring washer packet (21) with spring washers (24) having the same or different spring force characteristics and arranged parallel or in series.
