Fuel system for an internal combustion engine
DRIVE
March 3, 2004
Fuel system comprises a low-pressure region (18), a high-pressure fuel pump (24), and a high-pressure region (26). The high-pressure fuel pump consists of a housing (38, 42), at least one moving conveying element (44) defining a conveying chamber (66), at least one drive (54) setting the conveying element in motion, a drive chamber (62) in which the drive is at least partly arranged, and a lubricant supply device (45) for supplying moving parts with fuel as a lubricant. The lubricant supply device loads the drive with a pressure which is higher than the pressure in the low-pressure region. An Independent claim is also included for an alternative fuel system.
