The system has a pumping device for conveying fuel from a low-pressure region to a high-pressure region. A pressure accumulator line comprises two separate accumulator units and feed lines (6) connecting the accumulator units to define a flow direction. A pump accumulator is arranged in the high-pressure region for fuel conveyance with a hydraulic unit, and injectors are connected to accumulator cover (7).
