Load carrier for a motor vehicle

The device consists at least of a ball housing at least partly enclosing a trailer coupling ball head, a clamping mechanism, a load carrier. The clamping mechanism has a lever mechanism that clamps the ball head between the ball housing and a yoke shaped counter plate with a conical edge facing the ball head and an edge/counter surface that engages the lower edge surface of the ball head. The counter plate engages around the trailer coupling neck. The device consists at least of a ball housing (2) at least partly enclosing a ball head (1) for a trailer coupling, a clamping mechanism, a carrier (4) for the load, preferably two-wheelers and preferably bicycles. The clamping mechanism has a lever mechanism that clamps the ball head between the ball housing and a yoke shaped counter plate (9) with a conical edge facing the ball head and an edge/counter surface that engages the lower edge surface of the ball head. The counter plate engages around the trailer coupling neck.
