The invention relates to a load carrier coupling (10) for a load carrier (T), for releasably fastening to a coupling ball of a trailer hitch (80) of a motor vehicle (F), with a coupling base (11; 111) and a clamping device comprising at least two clamping parts for clamping the coupling ball (83), at least one of which forms an adjustable clamping part (17) that can be moved by an actuating element (31) between an open position (O) provided for introducing the coupling ball into a receiving space (16) delimited by at least one of the clamping parts (20) and distant from at least one other of the clamping parts (20), and a clamping position (K) clamping the coupling ball in the receiving space (16), wherein the load carrier coupling (10) has at least one support projection (46) for support on a coupling ball carrier (81) carrying the coupling ball (83). In the load carrier coupling (10), it is provided that the at least one support projection (46) is operationally coupled or fixedly connected to the at least one adjustable clamping part (17) such that the adjustable clamping part (17) moves the at least one support projection (46) when actuated into the clamping position (K) into a support position (S) in which the support projection (46) is supported on the coupling ball carrier (81), and when actuated into the open position (O) into a release position (L) in which the at least one support projection (46) is moved away from the coupling ball carrier (81) so that the load carrier coupling (10) can be removed from the trailer hitch (80).
