Thermoformable blank with square tufting
DRIVE
January 21, 2004
The carpet consists of a thermoformable layer with a layer (2) of a tufted textile fabric attached to it, the tufts (4) being set in a square pattern, with the number of lock points equal to the number of gauge points, e.g. 40 to every 10 cm. The textile fabric is a non-woven material with tufts formed from continuous or discontinuous fibres, and its underside is coated with a layer of a bonding agent, optionally containing a mineral filler. The thermoformable layer can also contain a filler, and can have an associated backing layer, e.g. of foam or felt.
