Airbag module and method for attaching an inflator to an inflator holder

The airbag module has a gas generator (12) with at least one snap-lock connecting element (38), and a gas generator mounting (18) with a mating snap-lock connecting element (26). The snap-lock connecting elements provide the method of fixing the gas generator on the mounting. The gas generator has a pressure vessel (28) to which is rigidly connected a housing (30) upon which is constructed the snap-lock connection for the gas generator. An Independent claim is included for a procedure for the fixing of a gas generator with a snap-lock connection on a mounting equipped with a mating snap-lock connection.
