Protective device for vehicles with an adjustable part

The device has a measurement device for detecting a movable object in at least one monitoring area. The adjustable vehicle part (folding or hinged cabriolet roof) is automatically adjustable by a motorized adjuster depending on the signals of at least one sensor (rain sensor) and/or a window controller. The measurement device is connected to a shut-off device that shuts the adjuster off if there is a moveable object in the monitored area.
