Control method for automatic transmissions in hairpin curves and corresponding automatic transmission.

Source
The control method is for a motor vehicle automatic gearbox in which the gear ratio of the gearbox is set by rules of a driving control program running in a control unit (12). Accordingly the driving control program is used to detect a certain pattern of movement of the accelerator pedal (FP) and a subsequent transverse acceleration (aquer) as due to the vehicle negotiating a hairpin bend. When such a peak is detected the gear ratio is maintained constant. An Independent claim is also included for a corresponding automatic gearbox.
