Method for controlling a propulsion unit during gear shifts of an automatic transmission

The method of control is for a motor vehicle engine motor-transmission group with an electronically controlled automatic gearbox. The gear ratio changes are controlled by determining, at regular time intervals, a limited torque value (Cc) as a function of which the changes are performed. The limited torque value is derived from a control torque (Ccc) and the maximum power (Pmax) available at the given engine speed regime (N).
