Projector-type headlamp for motor vehicles

The device has a light source placed at a focus of an elliptical reflector (20). A convergent lens (30) is disposed in front of the light source so that another focus of the reflector is contained in an object focal plane of the convergent lens. The two foci form an optical axis of the lighting device. An obscuring device (60) disposed perpendicular to the optical axis is mounted at a distance from the focal plane.
