Hinge for a vehicle seat

Fitting for a motor vehicle seat comprises a first fitting part (7) defining an at least partly closed construction space, a second fitting part (8) pivoting relative to the first fitting part, two locking elements (12, 15) acting between the fitting parts, and a control element (24) assigned to one fitting part and arranged within the construction space to control the interaction between the locking elements. In the pre-assembled state of the fitting the control element is inserted from outside the fitting into the construction space and attached to the associated fitting part. An Independent claim is also included for a vehicle seat comprising a seat part, a back rest, and the above fitting for adjusting the back rest. Preferred Features: The control element is a control disk arranged at least partly around the back rest bolt (10) allowing the second fitting to pivot relative to the first fitting.
