Method and apparatus for emission monitoring of a storage container for storing a volatile medium, in particular of a fuel reservoir of a vehicle

The method enables operation of a fluid container whilst monitoring emissions and checking that the container is sealed. The temperature of the fluid relative to e.g. ambient temperature, is determined using calculation models, either continuously or cyclically. The measured value is then either used as a correction value when checking the sealing of the container or, alternatively, the seal check is only carried out when the determined temperature is within predetermined temperature values. Independent claims also cover a circuit for carrying out the method.
