Method for calibrating a temperature sensor

After a cold start, the variation with time of the temperature is measured in or downstream of the catalytic converter, and a temperature plateau is determined. The measured temperature value of the plateau is compared with a value of the temperature plateau previously measured using a calibrated or new temperature sensor. The difference between the values is used to calibrate the temperature sensor.
