Safety apparatus for automotive vehicles

The airbag (2) is connected to a distant compressed gas generator via the roof frame (1) and a hollow space (7) in the frame. The frame and/or the hollow space are formed by metal plate profiles (5,6), which are connected sealed to each other by adhesive. The hollow space extends from the A-column to the C/D column, and any openings into the columns are sealed. The compressed gas generator is located in the hollow space or the roof frame.
