Tire valve for tire with runflat-tube

DRIVE January 15, 2003
Source
The valve for a tire with an emergency inner tube comprises a valve (11) for the tube and a separate valve (27) for the actual tire. The tube valve is connected to the tube by a central bore (9, 10) running through a cylindrical housing (6), while the tire valve is connected to the tire by channels (37, 38) running down the outside of the casing. The tire valve has its own casing (26) which is attached to the cylindrical housing so as to form a permanent seal for the inner tube. An Independent claim is included for a vehicle with tires fitted with the valve.
