Method for route planning with a navigation system

Method for route planning using a motor vehicle navigation system has the following steps: entry of the target address (ADR) for selection of a target, selection of a route specification (RS) with criteria for the route course dependent on the target address and correlation of the address with route criteria for route calculation. When a new target is entered the user has the option to enter an associated route specification. Independent claims are also made for; (1) A navigation system with a program controlled computer unit, an address memory and a route specification computer for storage of target dependent route specifications; (2) A computer program for implementation of the route planning steps.
