Electronic unit for controlling gear shifting in a vehicle
DRIVE
October 9, 2002
The device is connected to an electronic unit for controlling an internal combustion engine and determines the engine torque associated with a desired traction force and an engine torque that can be set by the engine unit for a given gear. If the desired traction force cannot be achieved with the current gear a shift is performed and an engine torque is set in the new gear that is closer to the torque associated with the desired traction force.
