A typical protection system of this kind has a cassette-like housing (7) that can be attached to the vehicle, with a rollover body (1) guided therein, which in the normal state can be held by a holding device (20, 21) in a lower retracted rest position against the force of at least one prestressed driving compression spring (14, 15) surrounded by a tube, and which can be brought into an upper, protective position that can be locked there by releasing the holding device through the spring force of the driving compression spring (14, 15). It furthermore has a spring guide pin (12, 13) which is encompassed by the driving compression spring. In order to eliminate whistling noises during vehicle operation, the protection system is designed such that at least one set of splayed centering arms (16, 17) is attached to the spring guide pin (12, 13), which ensure an even spacing of the driving compression spring (14, 15) from the tube (3, 4) surrounding it.
