The roof structure for an automobile has a roof panel (1), with its longitudinal edges (2) each secured to the longitudinal carriers (3) of the roof frame at the bodywork. A profiled bar (4) is at the longitudinal carriers of the roof frame, for additional roof support and mounting in a durable fixture at the carriers. The profiled bar is bonded to the roof panel by an adhesive, and secured to the roof frame carriers by screw bolts
