Method of changing gear in a drive system
DRIVE
August 7, 2002
The method involves moving the clutch (20) towards disengagement after generating a shift command, disengaging the gear activated before the shift command, changing the drive unit's revolution rate towards a desired rate, moving the clutch towards engagement and then, when the gearbox input revolution rate is close to a demanded rate, moving the clutch towards disengagement and engaging a gear to be activated.
