Method for operating a drive train

The method involves arranging an automatic shift gearbox between a drive unit (A) and an axle drive (AB). An input shaft of the automatic shift gearbox stays in connection with the drive unit by a controllable decoupler and an output shaft of the automatic shift gearbox stays in connection with the axle drive. A stress is determined for implementing a gear shifting in the automatic shift gearbox. The stress is intercepted during implementation of the transmission in the activated or engaged gearshift side transient state of the power take-off.
