The method for controlling a vehicle comprises: (a) determining the steering angle of the front axle; (b) determining the friction on the axle; and (c) determining a threshold value for the steering angle. The two values of steering angle are compared and the braking or drive system is modified if the absolute value of the steering angle is greater than the threshold value.
