Variable displacement high pressure fuel pump

Source
The high pressure fuel pump, for an internal combustion motor, gives a variable fuel volume feed. It has a separate suction valve (18) between the low pressure line (15) and the feed zone (14). The control on the volume of fuel fed to the motor is set by opening the volume control valve (19) during the feed stroke of the piston (10) while the cams (13) on the camshaft (12) are in the second angular setting.
