Holder for a beverage container

The invention relates to a holder (10) for a beverage container for recessed installation in, for example, a center console of a motor vehicle. The invention proposes designing the holder (10) with a semi-cylindrical housing (12) and a cylindrically curved holding element (20) which is slidably guided in the housing (12) via a circular arc guide (24) from a non-use position recessed in the housing (12) into a use position projecting from the housing (12) and vice versa. The holding element (20) has an adjustment opening (26) into which the beverage container can be adjusted in the use position. A space enclosed by the holding element (20) during displacement can be used, for example, as a storage compartment, so that the holder (10) enables good utilization of its installation space. A further advantage is the aesthetic and unusual design of the holder (10) with its arcuate holding element (20).
