Support for a beverage container

The invention relates to a holder (10) for a beverage container. The invention proposes arranging a container (24), for example an ashtray, in a receiving space (16) of the holder (10) for positioning a beverage container, and guiding this container such that it can be lifted out of the receiving space (16) and pivoted to the side by means of a telescopic guide (22) and pivot bearing. The invention has the advantage that the receiving space (16) for positioning a beverage container and, if no beverage container is positioned, for accommodating the ashtray (24), is used for a dual purpose.
