Method and apparatus for controlling the exhaust gas recirculation in a compression ignition engine

Under smoothly changing load conditions a servo-unit controlling the exhaust gas feedback valve responds to a signal derived from the engine speed and load demand signal. Under acceleration the load demand signal is compared to a threshold value. if this is exceeded the input to the servo-unit is switched to zero and closes the feedback valve.
