Electro-mechanical vehicle braking system

The system has electronic transfer of a braking process initiated by a brake pedal to a wheel brake and a slip control function that causes brake actuation different from the brake pedal actuation if slip occurs. If the slip control function is activated a reaction characteristic is produced at the brake pedal such as would be typical of a hydraulic vehicle braking system.
