Steering wheel airbag module with a gas generator as vibrations damping mass

The airbag gas generator has a membrane(4) connecting the outer wall(3) to the airbag housing and by one edge(5) is connected directly to the outer wall. The membrane has the shape of a truncated cone. The membrane over a section(8) used for connecting to the outer wall of the gas generator is constructed cylindrically on its inner side. This section has an increased wall thickness and is in the form of a ring(6) which on the outer side has shock absorbing protrusions(16).
