The invention relates to a method for increasing driving stability in a vehicle, which brings about a yaw moment counteracting vehicle instability through a control intervention in the vehicle, wherein the extent of the control intervention depends on a controller command. Since a yaw angle setpoint value that is otherwise necessary for the control is difficult to determine, it is proposed to determine the controller command as a function of the difference between, on the one hand, the quotient of vehicle lateral acceleration (by) and vehicle speed (v) and, on the other hand, the actually occurring yaw rate (r).
