Our take

Camping Appesbach enjoys a beautiful setting on the shores of Wolfgangsee, surrounded by mountains and crystal-clear water.

We stayed for two nights and found it an excellent base for exploring the area by bike. On one day we cycled into the lively lakeside town of St. Wolfgang, where we enjoyed a fantastic evening meal before soaking up the atmosphere. It’s a bustling tourist town with colourful buildings, cafés and restaurants spilling out onto the streets.

The following day we headed in the opposite direction, cycling to St. Gilgen. Most of the route followed excellent cycle paths, making it an enjoyable and easy ride with wonderful scenery along the way.

The campsite itself was peaceful and well maintained, with good facilities and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Its lakeside location makes it an ideal place to relax after a day exploring.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return to spend longer discovering this beautiful part of Austria.
