Storage Management/Library does not list older uploaded files and images

Based on the docs, older files should remain in Library until they are manually deleted, except for files uploaded in Temporary Chat.

The release notes say Storage Management is available from Settings → Storage and also state:

Files remain in your Library until you delete them. Files uploaded in Temporary Chat aren’t saved to Library.

The File storage / Library article also says files are saved to your account until you delete them manually:

So if Storage Management / Library only shows files from the past five days exactly, that sounds inconsistent with the documented behavior, unless the missing files were uploaded in Temporary Chat or already deleted.

If you can reproduce it consistently, this may be something OpenAI Support/staff needs to look at. In that case you can contact them either through Help or email: support@openai.com and open a support ticket.

If you do need to contact them, I think it would probably help to include:

• plan

• platform/browser

• whether the older files were uploaded in normal chats or Temporary Chat

• whether the older files still appear in the original chats

• whether they appear in the composer file picker / recent files

• whether this happens in both Library and Settings → Storage
