Home invader fatally shot in South Deering

An intruder was fatally shot by a home owner early Monday in the Far South Side's Deering neighborhood.
A 33-year-old man told officers responding to the home in the 2200 block of East 103rd Street around 1:30 a.m. that the unidentified male broke into his home and charged at him, Chicago police said.
The man then shot the male in the chest, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Area 2 detectives were investigating.
