A teenage boy is recovering after being shot in the face in the South Deering neighborhood early Saturday.

The boy, 15, was outside in the 10000 block of South Paxton Avenue when a vehicle drove past and someone inside fired shots around 3:30 a.m., according to Chicago police.

The boy was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in fair condition with a gunshot wound to the left side of the face.

No one is in custody and detectives are investigating.
