College Daily Sheet: Hawaiian Punchout 5/1/26
Atlantic Coast
Covered by: Harris Yudin
‼️ Brett Renfrow, RHP Virginia Tech (Atlantic Coast)
7.0 IP, 4 H, ER, 3 BB, 9 K
A three-year starter for Virginia Tech, Renfrow has found his best stuff down the stretch this season. He only faced five batters with a runner in scoring position on Friday, keeping Cal off the board through the first six. He faltered a bit in the seventh, but worked out of it on his own. Renfrow is a solid Day 2 prospect.
Christian Serrano, SS North Carolina State (Atlantic Coast)
Game 1: 3-for-5, 2B, 2 R, K
Game 2: 2-for-4, HR, 3 R, 3 RBI, 2 K
Serrano has barely found the field thus far as a freshman, but he played both games of Friday’s doubleheader and made his presence felt. He found himself in the mix anytime State had a rally, and was the hero of Game 2 after launching a three-run shot to left to break a 0-0 tie. Serrano is just filling in for an injured Mikey Ryan, but he may have earned himself some additional opportunities.
‼️ Jack Radel, RHP Notre Dame (Atlantic Coast)
7.0 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 12 K
Four of the first 11 Stanford plate appearances resulted in doubles, but Radel settled in, keeping the Cardinal off the board the rest of the way and racking up 12 strikeouts — tied for his career-best — in the process. The big, powerful righty has spent three years in Notre Dame’s rotation, and has taken the next step this season, racking up five outings in ACC play of at least seven innings with two or fewer runs allowed.
💣💣 Tague Davis, 1B Louisville (Atlantic Coast)
2-for-4, 2 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2 K
Why does anybody pitch to this man?? Friday night marked his fifth multi-homer game of the season, giving him a whopping 29 on the year— the most in the nation by a solid margin. Twice he single-handedly gave the Cardinals the lead over Wake with a solo homer, and twice they couldn’t hold onto it. Davis has first-round upside for 2027 if he can cut back on the swing-and-miss.
Javar Williams, OF Wake Forest (Atlantic Coast)
4-for-4, 2B, 3 R, RBI, BB, SB
Williams is enjoying a breakout junior season, surpassing his 2024 and 2025 combined HR and SB numbers despite starting nearly every game since arriving on campus. He reached base five times in Wake’s Game 1 win over Louisville, and every time the Demon Deacons scored, he was involved. Williams is a classic table-setting leadoff guy with elite speed who plays a great center field, and an improved offensive skillet will push him up draft boards.
Big 12
Covered by: Drew Wheeler
Nu'u Contrades, 2B Arizona State (Big 12)
4-for-6, 2B, 3 RBI, K
Returning to second base was the final piece of the draft stock puzzle for Nu’u Contrades, whose early-season injury gave pause to his overall outlook for 2026; since returning to the Sun Devils’ lineup, Contrades has been an exceptional offensive force. On Friday, Contrades posted a four-for-six day with three RBI which he kicked off in the top second inning, doubling down the left field line to plate PJ Moutzouridis. In the next inning, Contrades singled the first pitch he saw to left, scoring Brody Briggs and keeping the bags juiced; finally, in the fifth frame, Contrades singled again to center field, scoring Briggs again as the Arizona State offense walloped UCF 9-4.
Paul Schoenfeld, CF West Virginia (Big 12)
3-for-5, 2B, R, RBI
Schoenfeld has been one of the game’s most silent but efficient contributors across Division I baseball this season and kept his level of play high on Friday. The Mountaineers center fielder went three-for-five to kick off the weekend and found his biggest hit early in the game, doubling to left center to rebound on an 0-2 count which he worked to 2-2; the two-bagger plated Gavin Kelly and gave WVU an early 1-0 lead. Schoenfeld did not kick in any of his stolen bases on Friday, but the weekend is young and WVU is up by a single game in the three-game series.
‼️ Maxx Yehl, LHP West Virginia (Big 12)
5.0 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 8 K
Yehl’s return to the rotation for West Virginia was a successful one, as he not only picked up his sixth win of the season, but also bucked a trend of downward momentum established a few weeks ago. In a piece for West Virginia News, Kevin Kinder explained how a two-week ‘vacation’ from pitching (which constituted an obvious lapse in starts as well as general rest and preventative treatments) following his two-inning start opposite Houston benefited the left-hander. Head Coach Steve Sabins agreed with the sentiment, explaining he felt Yehl’s slider was sharper and praised his 95-MPH fastball. Across his five innings and 87 pitches of work, Yehl allowed three hits and hit two batters while striking out eight Wildcats in the 7-0 win. Yehl said he is grateful to the WVU staff for “putting [him] in the best position to stay healthy,” and said his pitches “did what they needed to do” on Friday.
💣💣💣 Kollin Ritchie, CF Oklahoma State (Big 12)
4-for-4, 3 HR, 2B, 5 R, 3 RBI, BB
I love discussing Kollin Ritchie; the Cowboys’ center fielder is one of the sport’s most mercurial and catalytic players this season and can truly flip a game single-handedly at any point. On Friday, Ritchie’s skills were on full display amidst a 7-6 victory over TCU: yes, you’re reading it correctly, Ritchie clobbered the heralded Throng of Dongs to kick off the weekend series. Ritchie doubled in his first at-bat, then scored when Aidan Meola duplicated the effort. In the third inning, Ritchie went deep to right field, clocking his 23rd homer of the season to put the Cowboys up 3-0. By the fifth inning, TCU had stormed back and gotten a 6-4 lead, but Ritchie scored from first base after taking a free pass to the bag to narrow the gap. In the seventh inning, Ritchie homered to left center on the first pitch of his at-bat and tied the game at 6-6. Of course, the ninth inning came around and who would walk off the game but Ritchie, popping a third Ding-Dong Doodle with his bing-bong bat and lifting his season total to 25. We could be critical and say all of these shots were of the single-run variety, but beggars cannot be choosers and in certain instances, the Cowboys have been this. Ritchie’s torrid Friday would be a wonderful harbinger for an offensive flurry to come, especially with tournament time approaching; the center fielder has a ton of tools MLB teams will covet this summer.
Chase Brunson, CF TCU (Big 12)
2-for-4, HR, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI, K
Only outdone by his center field counterpart in the game, Chase Brunson showed off another skill set MLB teams will be gravitating towards in short order on Friday night. In the fourth inning, Brunson knocked his ninth homer of the season to left field, bringing a pair of runs around and lessening OK State’s lead to a single run. In the fifth, Brunson doubled, then was brought around when Nolan Traeger kept the homers flowing. Brunson’s early-season injury jarred his performance thereafter, but the centerfielder has been heating up lately; the Horned Frogs will never argue with Brunson’s elevated level of performance amplifying further.
Luke Jacobs, RF Utah (Big 12)
2-for-5, 2 2B, R, 2 RBI
Jet Gilliam, CF Utah (Big 12)
3-for-4, HR, R, 3 RBI, BB
Jake Long, LF Utah (Big 12)
2-for-5, HR, R, RBI, K
The Utes outfield did the job again for Utah, directing the offense while helping to pull down 10 fly outs in the grass en route to an 8-1 victory over BYU. “The American Dragon” Jake Long jump-started the Utah offense in the bottom first, clobbering a solo shot to center field to give the Utes a 1-0 lead. Leadoff man Luke Jacobs doubled to right center in the third frame, bringing Derek Smith home from second. Center fielder Jet Gilliam went back-to-back innings with run-scoring hits next, as in the fourth he launched the first pitch he saw to left field to boost Utah to 4-1. Gilliam singled up the middle in the fifth, plating Cameron Gurney and adding another run to the mix. Jacobs doubled to right in the eighth and Gilliam singled again, this time through the left infield gap to lift Utah to its final 8-1 mark. By my money, the Utes are a deceptively talented team who may make a little noise in the Big XII Tournament.
Big Ten
Covered by: Quinn Martin
Naulivou Lauaki, DH Oregon (Big Ten)
3-for-4, HR, R, 2 RBI
Burke-Lee Mabeus, C Oregon (Big Ten)
1-for-3, HR, R, 3 RBI, BB
The Ducks have slowed down a bit over the last month or so, the arms aren't nearly as dominant as they were at the beginning of the year and some of the bats have underperformed. However, this last month has allowed us to see the breakouts of Mabeus and Lauaki which has been incredibly fun to watch. Mabeus is getting to his power more often, making consistent and quality contact, while still playing a good catcher. He caught 2 Huskie runners trying to steal last night. He's turning a lot of heads as of late. With Lauaki, people will already be turning their heads to try and see how far this kid hit the ball. The redshirt freshman is crushing everything right now and has one of the higher power ceilings in the entire sport. It's no secret his hit tool leaves much to be desired but when he gets a hold of one, it goes a long way. If Oregon's arms can get back on track, I still believe they can make a run later this month and into June.
Abbrie Covarrubias, 2B USC (Big Ten)
2-for-4, 2B, R, 3 RBI, SB
‼️ Mason Edwards, LHP USC (Big Ten)
7 IP, 3 H, ER, 2 BB, 12 K
I know I know, Mason Edwards is on the daily sheet again but what am I supposed to do when he strikes out 10+ in nearly every start. He leads the country in all things strikeouts and took a no no into the 6th last night. He did what he does best, pounds the fastball up, then drops down his nasty curveball that seemingly no one can touch. He continues to be just a bit scattered, walking 4 last night but his strikeout numbers are just ridiculous. At the plate, it was another light day for an offense that has been criticized all year, but Covarrubias was the standout. The 22 year old has been a solid second baseman that provides value at the plate, on the base paths, and on the dirt. He makes the routine plays, some tougher ones as well, he has stolen 17 bags thus far, and gets on base decently well, providing some gap to gap juice like he did last night.
Max Burt, C Iowa (Big Ten)
2-for-4, HR, R, 4 RBI, BB, 2 K
In the redshirt sophomore's first full season, Burt has been very impressive. He's hitting well over .300 with respectable strikeout numbers and slug. He's only played in 29 games but has really come alive since the end of April. He mashes fastballs and shows promise as someone who could come back and live in the everyday lineup.
‼️ Tony Neubeck, LHP Indiana (Big Ten)
6 IP, 4 H, 4 BB, 7 K
If you're a Hoosier fan, the name Tony Neubeck should mean something to you at this point. He's made so many quality starts this year and has made a huge impact in just one year with the program. He was dialed in yesterday, throwing 6 shutout innings and gathered 15 whiffs across his 100 pitches, with 11 of them coming off his slider. It's a nasty downer with glove side movement that lefties were unable to touch and righties couldn't lay off of beneath the zone. Neubeck's overall numbers aren't eye popping but he's been a heck of a pitcher for Indiana all spring long. Now, if you don't know, now you know... Owen Ten Oever is the newest Big 10 freshman phenom and he plays in the great state of Indiana. Across 61 plate appearances, he's grossed 7 XBH with an average above .350. He posted an EV of 110.5 on his double yesterday and is physical with a capital P. Keep an eye on the Hoosiers heading into 2027, they are young, talented, and if they can find some more portal gems like Neubeck, Indiana could find themselves in contention.
Mulivai Levu, 1B UCLA (Big Ten)
2-for-4, HR, R, 2 RBI
It was a quiet night for the UCLA lineup, that was until Mulivai Levu woke up the bats in the 8th with a 2 run HR giving UCLA the lead. Levu's swing is so pure, it's a plus hit with above average power and he has been one of UCLA's best bats all year. As Roch, Gasparino, and Roman Martin get talked about more and more, I think we are leaving out Levu far too often, as he has the potential to be the best pure hitter out of this bunch.
‼️ Wylan Moss, RHP UCLA (Big Ten)
6.2 IP, 2 H, ER, 3 BB, 8 K
With Reddemann down with a tired arm, Moss has stepped into the Friday night role impressively well. He accumulated a very impressive 17 whiffs across his 98 pitches, working mainly with his fastball and changeup, flashing a slider as well. His changeup is a clear plus pitch that he pummeled the bottom of the zone with. He had a few big misses with the fastball but mostly lived middle-up, playing nicely off the change. Moss is the most likely candidate for the Friday night ace role in 2027, especially if he can make that slider a legitimate 3rd offering.
‼️ Cristofer Cespedes, RHP Maryland (Big Ten)
6 IP, H, 3 BB, 3 K
Cespedes made his first collegiate start last night and was effective across 6 innings, allowing only 1 hit. He pounded the zone with his low 90s sinker combined with his mid 80s gyro slider that picked up plenty of swing and miss. He kept the ball on the ground all night and although Maryland's had pitching trouble all year, Cespedes has been their guy out of the pen and I love that he's making the transition to starter. The Terps are super young and look like a team who could make a jump in 2027.
‼️ Gavin Kuzniewski, RHP Ohio State (Big Ten)
8 IP, 4 H, ER, 3 BB, 4 K
Huge win for Ohio State off the back of Kuzniewski. Taking game 1 from Nebrasaka is a massive result for the Buckeyes who essentially need to win out if they have any chance of postseason play. The stuff isn't anything to write home about but he utilized his 5 pitch mix effectively, changing looks, and generating 11 groundballs from one of the hottest lineups in the country. The sophomore right hander has made strides this year and should be back in an Ohio State uniform in 2027 as their Friday night ace.
Mid Majors
Covered by: Joshua Salguero
‼️ Isaiah Magdaleno, RHP Hawaii (Mid Majors)
9.0 IP, H, BB, 16 K
It really sucks not being able to catch Hawaii games being on the East Coast. You miss gems like the one Magdaleno threw Friday night. I'm sure any talks about Magdaleno's stuff holding up in the rotation have been brushed aside now. The career best 16 Ks really highlights it but he's also got a 30.2% K rate in 72 innings so far with a 10.2% walk rate opposing it. Magdaleno is making a push to be the first Hawaii player drafted in the top five rounds since Jeremy Wu-Yelland in 2020.
💣💣 Nic Pepe, 2B Maine (Mid Majors)
2-for-5, 2 HR, 2 R, 4 RBI, 2 K
💣💣 Hunter St. Denis, 1B Maine (Mid Majors)
4-for-5, 2 HR, 2B, 4 R, 2 RBI
A couple of grade A names combined to provide most of the offense in Maine’s win over Binghamton. Nic Pepe and Hunter St. Denis each had themselves a two homer game, combining to drive in six of the nine runs scored. Pepe’s been flirting with the Mendoza line for a majority of the season but including this two homer performance, he finds himself on a nice little six game hitting streak that’s brought his OPS to a respectable .834. St. Denis had a solid April that brought his season numbers back to a good spot. With three homers in his last three days, he’s brought his OPS up to .819 as his seven homers is good enough for third on the club.
💣💣 Blake Primrose, C Saint Joseph's (Mid Majors)
2-for-3, 2 HR, 3 R, 5 RBI, BB
Primrose extended his hitting streak to 9 games and he has recorded a hit in 26 of his last 27 games. He homered twice on Friday, also bringing his season total up to 19. He continues to impress greatly this season and in my opinion, looks to be a top three catcher for next year’s class. For the season, Primrose is slashing .383/.481/.838 with 19 home runs, 35 extra base hits, and 34 walks.
💣💣💣 Hunter Ray, RF Fairleigh Dickinson (Mid Majors)
3-for-5, 3 HR, 3 R, 5 RBI, K
This man’s a monster. He had a tremendous April hitting twelve home runs and now he’s continuing to pound the ball into May. In the first game of the month, Ray homered thrice to bring his season total to 25 with 17 home runs coming since 3/28. It’s been near impossible to get Ray out and the rest of the lineup stepping up around him has forced pitchers to attempt to attack him.
💣💣 🍔🍟 Ryan Novak, LF Miami (OH) (Mid Majors)
2-for-3, 2 HR, 4 R, 3 RBI, 3 BB, K, SB
It’s been a forgettable season for Novak who has failed to build upon a strong first two seasons but Friday brought back visions of what he can be. In the win over Western Michigan, Novak homered twice, walked three times, and stole a base for good measure. The fives time on base brought his OBP up to a respectable .418. Even though the average and on-base are down, the slugging is experiencing a career best. With two homers, his slugging raised to .538 and he set a new career high with ten home runs after his double dong day.
‼️ Alec Bouchard, RHP Wofford (Mid Majors)
9.0 IP, 2 H, ER, 14 K, HRA
Noah Quarless, C Western Carolina (Mid Majors)
2-for-3, HR, 2B, R, RBI, K
Alec Bouchard is on quite a run dating back to mid-March. He’s allowed eight earned runs in his last seven starts with six of the seven being outings of one run allowed or less. Friday continued the pattern with a complete game performance, allowing one run and striking out a career high fourteen batters. He allowed just two hits for the day, both to catcher Noah Quarless. Everyone in the lineup was looking silly but not Quarless. Against Bouchard, he doubled and homered, being the only guy to reach base and one of four batters to not strike out multiple times on the day. Bouchard lowered his ERA to 1.68 and now has 19 walks and 86 strikeouts in 69.2 innings.
Carter Christenson, 2B Xavier (Mid Majors)
1-for-1, HR, R, 3 RBI
Xavier pulled off the upset against Georgia Tech, taking an exciting game of the series. They took the game in extras and held the Yellow Jackets to under five runs, being the first to do since their last loss on 4/18. A fielder’s choice tied the game in the 9th and brought the game to a 10th where Carter Christenson would become the hero. After two quick outs, the bullpen would unravel and Christenson would pounce with a go-ahead three run home run that would be more than enough to hold in the bottom half for the win. To make it more memorable, it was the freshman’s first collegiate home run.
‼️ Ryan Combs, RHP North Carolina Charlotte (Mid Majors)
7.0 IP, 3 H, BB, 9 K
The senior righty threw seven scoreless against Tulane, allowing six baserunners and striking out nine in the dub. This was Combs’ second consecutive weekend start as he solidified this spot for the rest of the season. As the Saturday arm, Combs has combined to go 11.2 innings with one run allowed and fourteen punch outs. Clutch performance from Combs stepping into a big pitching role for a team trying to claw their way back just before the season ends.
Michael Perazza, LF Florida Atlantic (Mid Majors)
2-for-3, HR, 3 R, 4 RBI, K
South Florida can’t stop losing. Friday marked their sixth loss in a row, falling to a 7-12 record in conference play. Michael Perazza did his part, driving in four on two hits in the win. For the season, Perazza is slashing .321/.387/.463 with twelve extra base hits.
‼️ Ryan Towers, LHP East Carolina (Mid Majors)
7.0 IP, 3 H, BB, 10 K
Towers shut down Memphis, striking out ten and blanking them through seven as his team backed him up with eight runs of support. Towers runs his scoreless innings streak to fifteen with his third consecutive scoreless outing. With the easy win, East Carolina improves to 13-6 in conference play for the year.
Logan Fyffe, SS Missouri State (Mid Majors)
4-for-5, HR, 2B, 2 R, RBI, K
In what should come as a slight surprise, Logan Fyffe had his first four hit performance of the season on Friday. For as good as Fyffe has been with the hits he racks up, it’s a slight shock to see he hadn’t reached four in a game yet. Friday saw him hit a double and a homer en route to Missouri State’s big win over Jacksonville State. He continues to stick above an OPS of 1.000 (1.060) as he’s surpassed Curry Sutherland for the team lead.
‼️ Declan Dahl, RHP Louisiana Tech (Mid Majors)
7.0 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, BB, 9 K, HRA
‼️ Liam Watt, LHP Dallas Baptist (Mid Majors)
9.0 IP, 5 H, ER, BB, 10 K
The matchup between LA Tech and DBU featured a great pitching duel between Declan Dahl and Liam Watt. Dahl continued his reign of terror on the bump with seven innings of two run ball striking out nine but it was Watt that would come out on top. Watt delivered a complete performance for DBU, striking out ten along the way to a win. This performance obliterated his previous career highs, the nine innings being two innings more than his best and the ten strikeouts doubling his previous career high. A much needed start for Watt who had been slumping big entering Friday.
Zach Stevens, RHP South Alabama (Mid Majors)
4.1 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 6 K
Stevens has been simply elite, placing amongst the best relievers in the nation. In 36 innings, he’s allowed just five runs while pitching to a 2.84 FIP with runners in scoring position. He entered the game in the 5th with the bases loaded and two outs and proceeded to strike out Clayton Namken to end the inning. The next four innings would feature Stevens allowing a single unearned run as he worked his way to the finish line posting a blank.
💣💣 🍔🍟 Chris Ramirez, SS Cal Baptist (Mid Majors)
4-for-6, 2 HR, 2B, 3 R, 4 RBI, SB
Chris Ramirez has really tapped into his power this season. The most unexpected thing happened with Ramirez homering twice on Friday with the addition of a double and a stolen base. After going homerless his freshman season with just 8 extra base hits, Ramirez already has 6 for this year with an additional 18 extra base hits to give him 24 total. The star of CBU already shows off impressive bat-to-ball skills that highlight his draft value but the unlocking of this power stroke, or at least the potential for it, should place within the first half of the draft.
💣💣 🍔🍟 Vaughn Coleman, CF Cal State Northridge (Mid Majors)
4-for-4, 2 HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, SB
That middle of the order of Matthew Thomas, Matthew Pena, Mateo Rickman, and Vaughn Coleman is deadly. The one not named after a variation of Matthew hit two homers against Oregon State on Friday to guide them to the win. Coleman is a flashy player that shows off lots of raw potential. He’s got power in his bat, he’s got some speed, and he doesn’t strike out much. The freshman is still learning consistency but overall, he has an OPS of 1.021 for the season with nine home runs. CSUN should be safe for next season after their expected draftees are gone.
‼️ Rohan Lettow, RHP San Diego State (Mid Majors)
6.1 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 11 K
Jake Jackson, CF San Diego State (Mid Majors)
2-for-6, HR, R, 4 RBI, K
Getting swept by New Mexico looked to put the nail in the coffin in a disappointing season but now, SDSU finds themselves on a 9 game winning streak and atop the Mountain West. Their win Friday over Nevada reclaimed their throne from last year as the two swapped places in the standings. Lettow had another reliable start, striking out eleven in 6.1 innings. He now sits at 80 strikeouts through 62.2 innings as he looks to be one of the top arms selected from the west coast. Even with this great start, he left with a no decision as the game remained tied heading into the bottom of the 9th. On just four pitches, the Aztecs would load up the bases where Jake Jackson would smash one out to the batter’s eye in center for a walk-off grand slam.
Southeastern
Covered by: Brandon Payne
🍔🍟 TJ Pompey, 3B Arkansas (Southeastern)
1-for-3, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, SB
The former Red Raider is having a career year in the power department as he hit his 11th of the season. He also put together the combo meal with his 11 steal on the year in 12 attempts.
Kuhio Aloy, DH Arkansas (Southeastern)
3-for-4, HR, 2B, 2 R, 3 RBI
Aloy kicked off the weekend in fine fashion. He hit his 6th homerun of the year and drove in 3. He also added a double and scored twice. He is now slashing .303/.366/.489
Ryder Helfrick, C Arkansas (Southeastern)
1-for-3, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, BB, K
I'm still going strong on Ryder Helfrick as my number 1 catcher in this years draft. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love his game all around. Helfrick how now matched his season total in homeruns from last year in 15 less games.
Braxton Van Cleave, RF Kentucky (Southeastern)
2-for-5, HR, R, 3 RBI
Freshman Braxton Van Cleave has had sporadic playing time this year but has made the most of it when he has. And lately he has been producing in waves. He now has an 6 game hit streak going. There's a lot to build on for Van Cleave going into his his sophomore season.
Ethan Hindle, 1B Kentucky (Southeastern)
2-for-4, HR, 3B, 3 R, 2 RBI, 2 K
Hindle hit his 9th homerun of the year on Friday night and is now up to 43 RBI. Hindle also has 18 extra base hits. He is now slashing .289/.429/.611.
👟 Tre Phelps, 2B Georgia (Southeastern)
1-for-3, R, BB, K, 2 SB
Tre Phillips now has back to back games with 2 steals. He has 6 on the year now.
‼️ Joey Volchko, RHP Georgia (Southeastern)
6 IP, 5 H, 2 BB, 9 K
This was a nice bounce back performance from Volchko who allowed 9 runs in his previous 2 starts combined. While he has been producing the strikeouts, 76 in 62IP, his ERA is sitting at 3.63 on the year.
‼️ Dylan Volantis, LHP Texas (Southeastern)
6 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 12 K
Improving to 7-0 on the year in spectacular fashion was Dylan Volantis. He matched his career high in strikeouts with 12 on Friday against Miss. St. A dominating performance for Volantis as he adds onto a red hot streak of starts. Last week against Vandy, he had 11K in 6IP, and prior to that he had 12K in 6IP against Bama.
Eric Hines, LF Alabama (Southeastern)
2-for-4, HR, R, 3 RBI, 2 K
Hines was the catalyst tonight in propelling Bama to a 5-0 win over Vandy. The freshman is having an impressive year with 6 homeruns to go along with his impressive series against Vandy as he now has homeruns in back to back games. In 23 games played, Hines has produced a .292 average to go along with this 6 homeruns and 15 RBI.
Zane Adams, LHP Alabama (Southeastern)
6 IP, 8 H, BB, 6 K
Zane Adams was working tonight. Even when he got into trouble he was able to bear down and get out of those jams. Scattering 8 hits, walking 1 and punching out 6 was and impressive performance. And better yet was bouncing back from a horrible outing last week against Tennessee,
