Live Looks: UCLA at Rutgers 4/11/26

The number one team in the country made their way east for the weekend.

After a 30-strikeout performance on the bump for the UCLA pitching staff on Friday night, they followed it up with a cover-to-cover 7–1 win from strong performances by Michael Barnett, Cashel Dugger, and Will Gasparino.

RHP Michael Barnett (UCLA Senior, 6-4, 210 lbs)

5 IP, 2 H, ER, 2 BB, 7 K

The senior gave UCLA five solid innings, throwing only 74 pitches. The changeup was the story, accumulating 12 whiffs. The pitch sat in the low 80s with late tumble and fade. He paired it nicely with a low 90s FB and a horizontal slider which he was able to manipulate the shape of. His only mistake was to Rutgers OF Chase Krewson, where he used that slider low and in to get a swing and miss, then doubling up on it, trying to go backdoor but left the pitch over the middle for Krewson to punish it over the RF wall.
