Atlantic Coast

Covered by: Will Dodge

💣💣 John Stuetzer, RF Florida State (Atlantic Coast)

3-for-4, 2 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI

Will Baker, DH Georgia Tech (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-3, HR, 2B, R, RBI, BB

Carson Kerce, SS Georgia Tech (Atlantic Coast)

3-for-4, 2 2B, R

‼️ Porter Buursema, RHP Georgia Tech (Atlantic Coast)

4 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 7 K, HRA

Georgia Tech took game one of their huge series versus Florida State on Thursday winning 4-3 on a wild one. Will Baker remains hot, sending out a homer to get the Yellow Jackets’ scoring started. The Aussie’s 5th HR on the season traveled 400’ to the outside leading the bat at 104 mph off Wes Mendes. He mixed in another double and a walk. The Jackets went on to take game 2 as well in more convincing fashion 8-3. Florida State got some runs in late with a 2 homer game from RFer John Stuetzer. He flicked the first blast out to R-CF hitting it at 103 mph, and miraculously sending it over the wall. Carson Kerce had a nice 3 hit day in game 2 including 2 doubles. Porter Buursema had another nice start as he has begun to get things rolling transitioning from the bullpen. He went 4 innings only allowing 1 run and striking out 7 with most importantly only 1 walk.

Hudson Lutterman, LF Virginia Tech (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-6, HR, 3B, 2 R, 2 RBI

Ethan Ball, 2B Virginia Tech (Atlantic Coast)

3-for-6, HR, 2B, 2 R, RBI

🍔🍟 Carter Hendrickson, CF Boston College (Atlantic Coast)

1-for-5, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, BB, SB

The Virginia Tech Hokies stole game 1 versus Boston College winning 9-8 in 11 innings in back and forth action, as there was endless power from both sides. Ethan Ball and Hudson Lutterman both contributed long balls plus another extra base hit. Ball had a 3 hit day with a double included. His homer left the bat at 107 mph. Lutterman only had a 2 hit day but included a triple to his stat line. His homer left at 103 mph. Boston College got their say in on the hit parade as well as Carter Hendrickson got his first homer as a BC Eagle while also mixing in a stolen bag. He’s a GRAD transfer from Xavier not known for his power.

‼️ Oliver De La Torre, RHP Cal (Atlantic Coast)

7 IP, 3 H, ER, 2 BB, 4 K

Lawson Olmstead, DH Cal (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-4, HR, R, 5 RBI

Daniel Murillo, 1B Cal (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-4, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI

Jacob French, 2B Cal (Atlantic Coast)

3-for-3, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI

Cal broke out of their struggling ways with a run rule win over Pitt 12-1 in 7. Oliver de la Torre had a great bounce back start as he got the condensed complete game only allowing 3 hits from an explosive Pitt lineup. The story was the Cal bats rebounding however. Lawson Olmstead and Daniel Murillo both contributed multiple hit days + a homer. Olmstead sent out a 3-run homer in the third to bust the game open and had 5 RBIs on the day. In his first game back from an injury Jacob French was back to his usual ways with a hit in every AB including a double and a HBP.

Nate Savoie, LF Clemson (Atlantic Coast)

3-for-4, HR, 3 R, RBI, BB

Jack Crighton, RF Clemson (Atlantic Coast)

3-for-5, HR, 2 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI

🍔🍟 Jackson Moore, DH Clemson (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-4, HR, R, 4 RBI, SB

The Clemson Tigers are back and rolling after an emphatic Friday win over UNC 9-5. Nate Savoie didn’t have the best line of the day but had the loudest performance with a solo homer in the 5th that left the bat at 114 mph and traveled to dead center at 435’. He had two more hits and a walk. The best line went to Jack Crighton who had 2 doubles and a homer for himself. Crighton’s homer was pulled to LCF and left the bat at 103 mph breaking the game open in the 6th. It was the freshman Jackson Moore who piled on at the end with his first career homer, and had a steal earlier in the game.

💣💣 🍔🍟 Harrison Didawick, RF Virginia (Atlantic Coast)

3-for-5, 2 HR, 2 R, 4 RBI, SB

🍔🍟 Zach Jackson, LF Virginia (Atlantic Coast)

1-for-3, HR, R, RBI, BB, SB

With draft hopeful Jack Radel pushed to Saturday, Virginia teed off on Notre Dame winning 8-4 on Friday. The Cavs had two combo meals with Harrison Didawick flexing with 2 home runs. Didawick had a pair of 2-run homers to carry Virginia from out of a 3-0 hole. His second homer was a no-doubter traveling 416’. Zach Jackson got a blast of his own sending a liner shot down the RF line hit at 101 mph for his lone hit of the game.

Big 12

Covered by: Drew Wheeler

Quinton Coats, 1B Cincinnati (Big 12)

3-for-5, HR, R, 4 RBI, 2 K

Coats picked an opportune moment to return to the Daily Sheet – at least if you are a Baylor fan who was sick of sitting through a Smackdown in Cincinnati. The first baseman tacked another onto his nation-leading home run total, knocking his 21st of the season 408 feet to deep right and walking off the game. The round-tripper plated Ryan Tyranski and himself and finished the contest in eight frames at 11-1. Earlier still, Coats singled up the middle to cap off a seven-pitch AB and plated Charlie Niehaus and Tyranski to give Cincinnati a 2-1 lead over the Bears. Coats re-finding his stroke at the plate is nothing short of beautiful for a Bearcats squad which has fallen to 4-8 in conference play and still has high hopes for a postseason berth.

Ryan Tyranski, RF Cincinnati (Big 12)

3-for-4, 3 2B, 3 R, 3 RBI, BB, K

The man stacked three two-baggers, that’s a triple double! Tyranski handled right field for the Bearcats on Friday and delivered with three extra-base hits, scoring thrice and driving another three in from the leadoff spot in the lineup. In the fifth frame, Tyranski smacked one to right center, plating Cal Sefcik and Charlie Niehaus; the next inning, he doubled again to deep left, keeping hi s hot-hitting rolling and putting Cincinnati up 7-1.Tyranski has recently shown off the ability to stretch a gapper into extra bases and this kind of extra-base potential will boost his 2027 Draft stock; in my opinion, the redshirt freshman has taken to his first season of collegiate action like a fish to water.

‼️ Nathan Taylor, RHP Cincinnati (Big 12)

7.0 IP, 7 H, ER, 2 BB, 11 K

"Workhorse" is the best descriptor for Taylor, who has been steadier (and frankly, more successful) than 80 percent of NCAA D1 arms this season. Taylor matched a career-high 11 strikeouts across seven innings on Friday as the Bearcats shut down Baylor. The 21-year-old junior is among his finest collegiate season and operates with a lot of smoothness on the mound; I suspect he could be polished into a backend professional starter and teams will have their opportunity to do so this summer.

Jordan Bach, RF Kansas (Big 12)

1-for-3, RBI, BB, K

Max Soliz Jr., DH Kansas (Big 12)

3-for-5, 2B, 2 RBI

Dylan Schlotterback, 3B Kansas (Big 12)

2-for-4, 2B, R, RBI, K

Rock Chalk and my-oh-my at the Jayhawks! In an 11-inning stunner, Kansas played nasty host to put a loss on our number 19 team in the country in UCF; the offense split the load on the night, but third baseman Dylan Schlotterback certainly got it started in the third, doubling down the left field line on the first pitch of the at bat to score Josh Dykhoff and even the score at one-all. Jordan Bach put up a sac fly to center, plating Schlotterback and giving Kansas the lead later in the frame. In the sixth, DH Max Soliz Jr. doubled down the left field line, mirroring Schlotterback’s earlier strike and plated Tyson Owens. Finally, with the score tied in extras, who else but the senior DH Max Soliz would come up clutch for Kansas, delivering with a single to left field to walk off the game, scoring Brady Ballinger to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Andrew Williamson, RF Central Florida (Big 12)

0-for-3, R, 3 BB, K

Far from the splashiest line you’ll see in today’s sheet, but I appreciate Williamson taking three free passes against Kansas in a huge Friday matchup between two of the league’s best. Sure, sure, Williamson struck out once, too, but I’ll take .750 OBP every day. I expect Williamson to take a small jump forward in our forthcoming Top 200 NCAA players for the 2026 Draft.

👟 Dee Kennedy, SS Kansas State (Big 12)

1-for-5, 2 R, RBI, BB, 2 K, 2 SB

Kennedy had another balanced game in driving the engine for the Wildcats. In the bottom first, he jumped out and stole home to score for K-State. In the fourth, Kennedy singled to left, driving Micah Kendrick home from second off an Ethan Lund offering. Kennedy also did some more damage, swiping another base and taking a free pass while scoring a pair of runs. Kennedy has a competent bat and a maturing approach at the plate; I really like him as one of the most underrated college players in the country and in the 2026 MLB Draft.

🍔🍟 Shintaro Inoue, 2B Kansas State (Big 12)

1-for-3, HR, 3 R, RBI, BB, K, SB

Inoue’s had a very strong campaign and added to it on Friday, knocking a seventh-inning homer 356 feet to left field after working a full count. Inoue’s fourth homer of the campaign came among his team-leading 34th appearance of the season and what do you know – he added a stolen base for the full combo meal. Inoue also balanced his strikeout by earning a walk; the Japanese-born infielder is draft eligible as well; I’m unsure what his stock looks like for the moment, but this has certainly been his finest collegiate season metrically.

‼️ James Guyette, RHP Kansas State (Big 12)

7.0 IP, 3 H, ER, 3 BB, 12 K

Guyette, a junior the Wildcats have leaned heavily on this season, labored through seven innings, totaling 124 pitches in a workhorse performance which led to a series-opening victory. The junior operates primarily as a sinker/slider hurler, sitting mid-80s with the breaking ball which earned substantial whiffs on Friday night. He went up and away with the 95 MPH sinker to earn more swing-and-miss, and set a career high in strikeouts with 12, balancing out the three free passes and three hits he allowed. Guyette was really feeling it as he exited mid-seventh and certainly kept the Wildcats energized from the bump.

Ezra McNaughton, DH BYU (Big 12)

2-for-5, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, K

McNaughton tied the game for BYU in the top sixth inning, taking his tenth homer of the season 381 feet to deep right to bring two runs across for the Cougars. McNaughton is a draft-eligible sophomore whose power production this season may attract some late-round attention, though I suspect he could build his case over another year of solid production at the NCAA level.

Jake Long, LF Utah (Big 12)

4-for-6, 2B, R, 3 RBI, 2 K

“The American Dragon” had another Friday to remember in a 10-4 victory over Arizona State, collecting four hits and three RBI while striking out twice and scoring a run (4-3-2-1, very nice). Long got it going in the top second, singling off Cole Carlon to left center to bring Cal Miller and Zakye Hawkins home and advance Jack Kleveno to third. In the top ninth, Long added onto the lead with a double to right field, scoring Matt Flaherty from second. Long has strung together several flashy performances and has seen his draft stock increase along the way. Chances are, he’ll be a mid-range selection for a team unafraid to take the leap on a contact-oriented and capable outfielder.

Landon Hairston, CF Arizona State (Big 12)

2-for-4, HR, 2B, 2 R, 3 RBI, BB

Hairston is simply at another level; on Friday, he posted as classic a line as he could by his standards, but still could not overcome a surging Utah squad at home. In the bottom fifth, he sent his 20th home run of the season 398 feet to deep center; the first-pitch whack drove in all three of his runs with a single swing. We could get selfish and say we’d like to see a stolen base kicked in for Hairston, but honestly – what he’s doing is never worth criticizing. He’s a professional, simply put.

Big Ten

Covered by: Quinn Martin

‼️ Mason Edwards, LHP USC (Big Ten)

8.1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 16 K

Mason Edwards at it again striking out 16 in nearly a complete game! Striking out 16 in any game is extremely impressive but doing it against this Iowa team, who may not be the best in the country, but they do a really good job of putting the ball in play. Notably, Gable Mitchell who runs a sub 10% K rate is one of the best bat to ball guys in the country and Iowa is currently in the top 5 in lowest team strikeout rate. Mason Edwards didn't seem to care, using that banger of a breaking ball to pick up tons of swing and miss. Edwards stock is polarizing to some, including myself, and it'll be interesting to lineup this group of college pitchers at season's end.

Dylan Carey, SS Nebraska (Big Ten)

3-for-4, HR, R, 3 RBI

Dylan Carey continued to impress in their close loss to Oregon. He has really come into his pull side juice and has been one of the most productive players in all of college baseball. Nebraska has been one of the most surprising teams in the country and it's in large part due to Carey, his bat, and his play at shortstop.

🍔🍟 Brayden Jaksa, C Oregon (Big Ten)

2-for-4, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, SB

‼️ Will Sanford, RHP Oregon (Big Ten)

6 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, BB, 12 K

The Ducks squeaked by the Cornhuskers with the help of their ace, Will Sanford who delievered another quality start, and the freshman Jaksa who came up clutch with a combo meal. Coach Waz did not hold back in the post game in his praise for Sanford, calling his fastball one of, if not the best in the country. It's a power fastball with a deceptiveness through the delivery, along with a low release height. As he continues to iron out his command like he did today, Oregon's ceiling is very high. Speaking of high ceilings, Brayden Jaksa has flashed future dominance in his freshman year. At 6'6, his power ceiling is massively high and he alerady has very impressive control over his long levers. The key for him will be to keep that whiff rate down as sometimes it's tough for these longer limb players to make contact consistently. Really good start for the freshman.

Zach Strickland, RHP UCLA (Big Ten)

4 IP, 2 H, 7 K

‼️ Logan Reddemann, RHP UCLA (Big Ten)

8 IP, 2 H, ER, BB, 18 K

WOW UCLA 30 strikeouts!!! In a 14 inning thriller with Rutgers, UCLA punched out 30 Rutgers hitters and took the win 4-1. Logan Reddemann was magnificent, going 8 innings and striking out 18! "Steady Redde" has fully cemented himself as a first round pick and when we talk about up arrow college arms, it's him and Mason Edwards who stand side by side. If Reddemann was selected in the top 10 I'm not even sure that would surprise me at this point. His fastball is electric and comes at you with 4 other pitches that he commands extremely well. For me, this is an easy top 20 prospect that could continue climbing through the spring and into the summer. Zach Strickland was dominant as well, the freshman has been incredible over the course of 24 innings, walking only 3 and striking out 34. His fastball lives in the mid 90s and his cutter is one of his best offerings. Keep an eye on Strickland going into next year, he should be competing for a weekend spot!

Evan Haeger, CF Michigan (Big Ten)

3-for-4, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI

‼️ Kurt Barr, RHP Michigan (Big Ten)

9 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 10 K

Complete Game's continue to be rarer and rarer accomplishments in this age of baseball but Kurt Barr showed out last night in game 1 of a rivalry series. His north-south arsenal was dialed in yesterday, going to the fastball, slider, and depthy 12-6 CB often. He generated tons of swing and miss below the zone, showing his sequencing and tunneling perfectly. Evan Haeger was the other star, who is in the midst of a career season. His HR the other way showed his upside and should he choose to stay another year, Haeger could be a weapon on a solid Wolverines team in 2027.

🍔🍟 👟 Hogan Denny, C Indiana (Big Ten)

2-for-4, HR, 2B, 2 R, RBI, BB, K, 2 SB

‼️ Tony Neubeck, LHP Indiana (Big Ten)

6 IP, 4 H, ER, 2 BB, 5 K

Mr. Consistency, Tony Neubeck does it again for Indiana who would be in a very different spot without him. It's been an up and down season for the Hoosiers, they show flashes of competing at the highest level of the Big 10, then less competitve flashes that have led them to their sub .500 overall and conference records. I'm not sure anyone would describe Neubeck as "dominant" or "overpowering" but he commands the baseball well and generates weak contact. His BB-K ratio is in a solid spot and his ERA is a respectable 3.5. Neubeck will look to give 5-7 innings of 1-3 run ball and sit right around a quality start every week which is exactly what Indiana needs given their budding offense. This is a young Indiana offense and Hogan Denny sits right at the top of it. He plays some catcher and some outfield but his real weapon is his bat. He is having an all around, good year accumulating 19 XBH, 8 steals, 22 walks, 22 Ks, and a wonderful slash line leading to a 1.067 OPS. You can't ask for much more across 33 games and Denny is placing himself in early round conversation for 2027. This Hoosier team is going to grow a lot going into next season if they're able to keep all of the puzzle pieces together. If they can, while finding some pitching depth, you may be looking at a new contender in the 2027 Big 10.

💣💣 Jackson Hotchkiss, CF Washington (Big Ten)

3-for-4, 2 HR, 2 R, 5 RBI, 2 BB, K

Continuing the "Jack" phenomenon. Jackson Hotchkiss does it again, bringing his HR total up to 11 in only 24 games and OPS up to 1200. He is one of the most prestigious power bats in the country and should he enter the transfer portal, he would most likely be the most sought after transfer bats. If there's one area of concern, it's his strikeout rate. As of yesterday, it's up to 27% and will need to come down for him to be considered a lock for the first round in 2027. His playing of a premium position in Center, plus or potentially better power, and track record of performance will prop him up undoubtedly but his strikeout rate will cause concern if he does not show improvement next season.

Jackson Akin, SS Minnesota (Big Ten)

2-for-2, HR, 2B, 3 R, 3 RBI

💣💣 Jack Bello, 1B Minnesota (Big Ten)

2-for-3, 2 HR, 3 R, 2 RBI, K

Jack Spanier, SS Minnesota (Big Ten)

3-for-4, HR, 3B, 2 R, 3 RBI, K

Apparently, if you wanted to hit in the Washington vs Minnesota doubleheader, your name had to start with "Jack". Spanier, Bello, and Akin combined for 4 HRs across their 2 games, with Spanier and Bello leading the charge in G1, though it ended in a loss. Spanier has been one of the most consistent bats for the Gophers and has improved exponentially in each of his 3 seasons. He's showing more power this year, while upping his OBP by nearly 100 points, and walking more than he's struck out. Minnesota is filled with legitimate draft prospects like Spanier, Isaac Morton, Easton Richter, etc. but they haven't been able to find performance from much of their pitching staff or supporting bats in the lineup. Bello is one of those supporting bats and he had his best game of the year yesterday. His 2 HRs doubled his season total and though G1 ended in a loss, it's a welcome sign for the Gophers trying to will their way back into Big 10 and postseason contention. Jackson Akin is a freshman who hasn't gotten much run but showed out in a big way in G2! He looks the part of Minnesota's next big draft prospect, it's a physical frame with strength. I'd question whether or not he sticks at SS but either way, I'd expect him to be a much bigger part of Minnesota's plans for the rest of this season and into next.

Michael Anderson, 1B Penn State (Big Ten)

2-for-5, HR, 2 2B, 2 R, 3 RBI

The senior 1B has put together his best season to date and is showing off an intriguing blend of contact and power. He's making contact at a career rate while accumulating 14 HRs and an unreal .855 SLG. As I've spoken about before, Anderson has had an odd career and will make his draft stock trickier given his lack of playing time in 2025 and being a senior. I expect Anderson to be taken in the top 10 rounds as a cheaper senior sign that doesn't make much of a dent in the bonus pool.

Mid Majors

Covered by: Joshua Salguero

Connor Kelley, RHP Texas San Antonio (Mid Majors)

5.0 IP, 2 H, 2 K

The UTSA offense did its usual thing, scoring eleven runs in the win over South Florida but I’d like to highlight Connor Kelley’s performance on the mound. After an early exit from the starter, Kelley entered the game in the 5th with a runner on and looking to protect a four run lead. He did exactly that and more, shutting down South Florida the rest of the way. Early struggles in the rotation led to a demotion for Kelley who has been untouchable out of the pen. In fourteen innings, he’s yet to allow an earned run and has struck out fourteen. For what was supposed to be a hyped matchup between the two, UTSA took game one pretty handily.

‼️ Charlie West, LHP Connecticut (Mid Majors)

6.2 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 14 K

West has either been unhittable or extremely hittable, no in between. Today was the former as he blanked Butler through 6.2, striking out 14 along the way. Unfortunately, the bullpen gave up five runs in the final two innings to lose the game. Still, it’s a great sign to see West pitch consistently in his last few starts as UConn battles for the Big East title.

💣💣 Josiah Overbeek, DH Army (Mid Majors)

3-for-6, 2 HR, 2B, 3 R, 5 RBI, 3 K

Army destroyed Lehigh Friday and it was Overbeek that stood out as the star. In six at bats, he smashed a pair of dingers with a double to boot as he drove in a quarter of the team’s twenty runs. He was in a bit of a rump after starting off blazing hot but here’s to hoping this game gets him going again. Even with the slump, he’s still slashing .289/.531/.687 on the year and has been among the best freshman bats in the country.

‼️ Steele Murdock, RHP UC San Diego (Mid Majors)

8.0 IP, 3 H, ER, 17 K, HRA

West Coast pitching just decided to all dominate today I guess. Then again, what else is new. With a statline like the one Steele Murdock had, you’d think it would for sure be the best in the nation, much less the state. Can even lower the threshold to a 100 mile perimeter but that’s stretching it. Despite allowing just one run through eight and striking out seventeen, he had arguably the third best start for any California team. Third best is still fine though when you get the win over your competition for the conference and march on to 13-0 in conference play. UCSD has yet to lose against conference opponents and a big part of it is their stars finally playing up to their potential. Murdock had his second double digit strikeout performance in three games and has a combined 34 strikeouts in 18.1 innings. His start to the year was pretty awful but the stretch of starts he’s been on is once again showcasing the potential he possesses and bringing his stock back up just in time.

💣💣 Diego Cardenas, DH Abilene Christian (Mid Majors)

2-for-5, 2 HR, 2 R, 5 RBI

Cardenas has to be one of the least talked about power hitters in the game. After a double dong day against Tarleton, he now sits at 17 bombs, just three shy of the leading 20. He’s not new to the power game as he hit 19 in his first year with the team in 2025 after transferring from JUCO. He’s a big boy at 6’0 240lbs so it’s not hard to see where the power comes from. The strikeouts do get pretty high with the discipline unable to match but with how easy the power comes to him, it wouldn’t be too much of a shock to see a club arrange a UDFA deal with him in a few months.

‼️ Alec Bouchard, RHP Wofford (Mid Majors)

7.0 IP, 5 H, BB, 12 K

Since giving up a run to the leadoff hitter in his last start, Bouchard has now pitched fourteen consecutive scoreless innings. After seven more shutout innings Friday, Bouchard lowers his ERA to 1.64 through 49.1 innings. Against The Citadel, he struck out a career high twelve as each start since March has gradually gotten better. He’s developed into an excellent Friday arm for a Wofford team that has quietly 23-11 including in 6-1 against SoCon opponents.

Trey King, 3B Jacksonville State (Mid Majors)

3-for-3, 2 2B, 2 R, 3 RBI

Jax State really is unstoppable. They did what no team has done since 2/20 by scoring more than two runs against Ben Blair, knocking him around for seven runs in six innings (easily a career worst). Doing most of the game was Trey King who had a three hit night with a pair of doubles and three runs driven in against Blair. The Georgia transfer has had a solid year with his new club, hitting .305 with eleven extra base hits and playing stellar third base defense. Jax State is firing on all cylinders and look primed to take the CUSA title. That series against Missouri State at the beginning of May is going to be must see TV.

💣💣 Carter Beck, CF Indiana State (Mid Majors)

3-for-5, 2 HR, 3 R, 4 RBI, BB

Beck has quietly been on a 16 game hitting streak and has reached base in every of his 34 games but one. During the hitting streak, he’s batted .465 with 8 homers and 26 RBIs. He’s added to a fantastic season with a two homer day against Illinois State, bringing his season total to nine. Beck has mashed every since his move to the states. He provides good power and an even better hit tool all while playing solid center field defense. With this type of bat playing a primary position, he’ll likely be selected early day two with a chance of even being taken late day one.

‼️ Evan Dempsey, DH/RHP Florida Gulf Coast (Mid Majors)

3-for-4, 2 R, BB, SB | 6.0 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 9 K

Last weekend was pretty rough but Dempsey got back to his typical stuff Friday against Jacksonville. On the bump, he tossed six shutout innings with nine Ks while collecting three hits at the plate including a stolen base. All this still wasn’t enough to get the win as the bullpen immediately gave up six runs after his departure. Either way, it’s still great to see Dempsey doing Dempsey things again.

Blake Barthol, 2B Coastal Carolina (Mid Majors)

3-for-5, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI

Barthol had 27 home runs combined over the past two seasons yet he entered today’s game with just one on the year. In fact, everything has been down across the board. Thankfully, the lineup around him has picked him up this season with great performances of their own. It’s only fair Barthol returned the favor. Coastal was trailing 7-3 entering the 9th with one of their three runs being scored on a Barthol home run. The homer actually went 426’ as well showing the power is still stocked somewhere. But going back to the big deficit, Coastal strung together five straight hits to tie the game and took the lead with a Barthol two run single. Even if it was really just one inning, this seemed like the first game where everyone in the lineup clicked and got going all at once.

‼️ Grayden Harris, LHP Southern Mississippi (Mid Majors)

6.1 IP, 4 H, ER, BB, 10 K

Harris has been putting up a stellar sophomore season, building from an already impressive freshman year. Against a floundering Louisiana team, Harris dominated, giving up just the run through 6+ and striking out ten. While not a glaring problem, Harris stood to improve his control this season and he’s done just that. Last season, he had a solid 9.2 BB% rate to go along with a 16.9 K%. After Friday’s game, Harris has a 4.8 BB% and a 28.8 K%. I’d say that’s impressive. Harris is set to be one of the youngest college guys taken next year as he won’t turn 21 until 2.5 months after the draft’s conclusion.

💣💣 🍔🍟 Adam Berghult, C Dallas Baptist (Mid Majors)

3-for-3, 2 HR, 3 R, 4 RBI, BB, SB

Don’t you love it when the least likely guy in the lineup goes off and drags the team to a win? In a lineup featuring seven of the nine guys with an OPS over .900, it was the lowest OPS in the lineup that homered twice and drove in four of the six runs to take the game. Not to dog on Berghult either as his OPS was still a passable .755 entering the game (now .871) but you could’ve guessed anyone in the lineup and it most likely wouldn’t be him. Regardless, his homers drove in four of the first five runs which was enough to take the series opener against Sam Houston.

Chris Ramirez, SS Cal Baptist (Mid Majors)

3-for-4, 3B, 2 2B, 4 R, RBI, BB, K

Ramirez continues his monster season with another three hit performance. Despite the lack of home run power, he’s punished balls into the gap with 17 extra base hits this year. He added to the total with two doubles and a triple as Cal Baptist dogpiled on UTA. The most surprising thing about his night was that he struck out, just the eleventh time this season. Everything about his game has improved and he looks poised to be a top ranked guy for next year’s draft class.

Trey Morris, LHP Oregon State (Mid Majors)

4.2 IP, H, ER, 8 K, HRA

No Dax no problem. A rain delay knocked the Beaver’s ace out after just two innings but freshman Trey Morris simply imitated a typical outing from him anyways. Against a tough Cal Poly squad, Morris pitched 4.2 innings, allowing just the one baserunner while striking out eight. He had gone perfect into the 7th before giving up a home run with one out. He would face the next batter, striking him out, before getting removed for the bullpen. He’s pitched mainly out of the bullpen this year but in his two starts (plus this outing, I’ll count as a start), he’s combined for 13.2 innings, allowing five hits, two runs, and striking out seventeen.

💣💣 Aiden Robbins, CF Texas (Southeastern)

3-for-5, 2 HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, K

It was electric in College Station on Friday night. The Aggies welcomed their former head coach back now with the Longhorns and it wasn't a friendly one either. Aiden Robbins did all he could get Texas the win, but the number 2 team in the land went down in game 1 of this series. Robbins had himself a double dong, which reminds me that I haven't had a ding dong in a while. I am a sucker for Hostess products. Robbins is now tied with Carson Tinney for the team lead in homeruns at .

Casan Evans, RHP Louisiana State (Southeastern)

6 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 9 K, HRA

There is the Casan Evans I know and love for the 2027 draft. This guys has pure stuff that will play at the next level. The best part is that he gets to pitch gain for LSU next year, portal pending. Evans leads to team in strikeouts with 59 in 41.2IP.

💣💣 Reed Stallman, 1B Mississippi State (Southeastern)

2-for-4, 2 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, K

If you are only going to get 2 hits in a game then they might as well count for a double dong. And with that double dong he also doubled his homerun tally on the year from 2 to 4. Dr. Pepper type numbers here. Speaking of Dr. Pepper, I used to love drinking that soda. Yes I'm from California and we call them sodas. No soda for me in 14 years.

Henry Ford, 3B Tennessee (Southeastern)

2-for-5, HR, R, RBI, 2 K

Hey look at that. The Vols didn't blow a late game lead. Maybe all it took was Drew Wheeler to attend one of their games. I heard he is a big Vols fan and really want Tony Vitello back on Rocky Top. Ford is a top 11 draft prospect this year and hit his team leading 10th homerun on Friday night.

Andreas Alvarez, RHP Auburn (Southeastern)

6 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K

Bingaman was perfect at the plate on Friday night for the Tigers. 3 singles, 3 runs, 3 RBI, and 2 walks. The freshman is having a really solid and steady year. He shows good plate discipline for a young player who is playing at the SEC level. He has 14BB-19K. He is batting .286 with 3 homeruns and 15 RBI in 28 games. It is scary how young and talented this Tigers team is. We talk a lot about Jake Marciano, but Andreas Alvarez could arguably be the best pitcher on the staff. Alvarez allowed 2 runs tonight to bump his season ERA up to 0.96. Oh and he now has 55K in 37.2IP.

Ethan Bingaman, OF Auburn (Southeastern)

3-for-3, 3 R, 3 RBI, 2 BB

Jaxon Jelkin, RHP Kentucky (Southeastern)

2 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K

Remember when I hyped up Jaxon Jelkin. Well, I still like him. This was a rough one however going just 2 innings. It took him 55 pitches to get it done. Hard to stay in games if you are working that hard. Although that is 1.2IP more than Cam Johnson. I guess one positive for Jelkin was that of the 8 runs given up, only 3 were earned runs.

💣💣 Brendan Brock, C Oklahoma (Southeastern)

3-for-5, 2 HR, 3 R, 7 RBI, K

Cam Johnson...... what has gone wrong this year? He has struggled all year to find his command. This was his worst start of the year by a mile. Johnson is now a Day 2 guy at best maybe day 3. 24 walks in 36.1IP is not something you can easily fix. On the flip side of this battery was Brendan Brock. He was fully charged and launched a double dong to go along with his 7 RBI. Brock continues to lead the Sooners offense and now has 8 homeruns on the year with 34 RBI, both stats the best on the team.

Cam Johnson, LHP Oklahoma (Southeastern)

0.1 IP, 4 ER, 4 BB, K

Tyler Fay, RHP Alabama (Southeastern)

6 IP, 4 H, ER, 2 BB, 4 K

Tyler Fay has been one hell of a roller coaster ride this year. Tonight was a little easier on the stomach. A quality start but not much to shout about. Fay no has 59K in 48.2IP. Where has the power gone for Justin Lebron? He hasn't hit a homerun since March 22 against Florida. While he is on a modest 4 game hit streak, I would like to see the power stroke come back to his game. And while I do think Lebron is still a top 5 pick in this years draft, it is something to keep and eye on.

Justin Lebron, SS Alabama (Southeastern)

1-for-5, R, K

Hunter Dietz, LHP Arkansas (Southeastern)

6 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 9 K, 2 HRA

Cam Kozeal launched his 9th homerun on the year on Friday night. He also added a double to give him 10 on the year. The junior is now slashing .311/.421/.606. Hunter Dietz is becoming one of my favorites to watch on Friday nights. The southpaw had an okay start. He did strike out 9 but did also allow 2 homeruns. I love the upside that he posses and if he lands with the right MLB team the sky is the limit.

Cam Kozeal, SS Arkansas (Southeastern)

2-for-5, HR, 2B, R, 2 RBI, K

‼️ Amp Phillips, RHP South Carolina (Southeastern)

8 IP, 5 H, BB, 10 K

What a night for Amp Phillips. The transfer from USC Upstate has been really solid in what has been a nightmare season for the Gamecocks. Phillips has only appeared in 8 games this year but has thrown 41.2IP and struck out 46 while walking 21. He threw 103 pitches with 74 of them for strikes for a much deserved win.

‼️ Joey Volchko, RHP Georgia (Southeastern)

6 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 7 K

Volchko has been consistent this with a few minor blips on the radar. He had back to back starts in the middle of March against Tennessee and A&M that weren't worth writing about, but ever since then he went 6.2 against South Carolina and 5 against Miss St. last week. Tonight was a tough luck loss to take as he did all the work and his bullpen imploded. Volchko now has 49K to 21BB in 45.1 IP. He should still be a round 2-3 guy this year.
