Grand Junction drivers should prepare for another week of lane restrictions, road closures, detours, and nighttime construction as multiple city and state transportation projects continue across key corridors.

From Patterson Road and 24 Road to I-70B and Broadway, several high-traffic routes will be impacted the week of May 18.

Here’s what to expect before heading out.


City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

24 Road Median Work

• Lane width restrictions on 24 Rd. between Patterson Rd. and Kassandra • Monday through Thursday • All traffic will remain open, but drivers should expect narrower lanes and slower movement


Crosby Avenue Improvements

• Crosby Ave. remains closed through September • Closure from West Main St. to American Way • Local traffic access remains open


Four Canyons Parkway Project

• Ongoing major impacts near 25 Rd. and Patterson Rd. • 25 Rd. closed from Blichmann Ave. to Waite Ave. • Temporary roadway in place • 24 ¾ Rd. closed from Apex Ave. to northbound traffic • Detours remain active

Drivers should continue to use caution through changing traffic patterns.


D 1/2 Road Capacity Improvements

• D ½ Rd. closed from 29 Rd. to 30 Rd. • Local traffic only • San Juan access to D ½ Rd. remains closed • Use 29 ½ Rd. south to D Rd. for detour access


Patterson Road at 28 ½ Road

• North sidewalk closed between 28 ¼ Rd. and 28 ¾ Rd. • Pedestrian detours remain in place • Lane shifts continue • Alternate routes recommended


Aspen Street Waterline Replacement Project

• Road closed between Unaweep Ave. and Highway 50 during work hours • Detours in place • Follow traffic control directions • Questions: 970-244-1558


CIPP Lining Project

• Night work on Patterson Rd. between N. 8th Court and View Point Dr. • Work hours: 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Residents near the corridor should prepare for overnight construction activity.


Non-City Projects with Travel Restrictions

CDOT Ute & Pitkin Improvements (I-70B East of Third Street)

• 5th St. reduced to one lane between South Ave. and Colorado Ave. • Detours in place • Parking and alley access remain open • Single lane and shoulder closures on Ute and Pitkin between 3rd and 6th Streets • Ute closures remain active 24/7 • 4th St. reduced to one lane between Colorado and Pitkin • Business and residential access remains open • Plan for an additional 5 to 10 minutes of travel time

CDOT CO 340 Overlay Project

• Single right lane closures on both eastbound and westbound bridges over the Colorado River • Between Redlands Parkway and Grand Avenue • Possible 10-minute travel delays • Night work from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday


23 Road and Broadway Roundabout

• New roundabout construction begins the week of May 18 • Alternate routes will be advised as the project ramps up
