Reform county council leader reelected
Dear readers – despite calls for leadership change, Reform’s Dan Harrison has been rereelected as the leader of Leicestershire County Council. During a full council meeting all 25 Reform councillors backed Harrison, while 17 members, across the Conservatives, Labour Party, Greens and Restore Britain voted against him. Notably, the 11 Liberal Democrats abstained from the vote.
Leicester city is set to get a new special educational needs and disabilities (Send) school in the city centre. The school will cater for up to 46 children between the ages of four to 11 years, and will be located in a Victorian building just off of New Walk. The new school will work on cognition and learning, focusing on children with autism, those who have experienced trauma, and children in the care system.
