Dear readers – Restore Britain councillor Whitford has been sanctioned by council bosses after receiving four complaints from residents about his comments surrounding the raising of flags in his ward. The Leicestershire councillor accused residents of being “anti-British” and “far-left extremists” after a row broke out over the raising of St George flags in a village.

In other news, the police and crime commissioner faced some scrutiny over plans to roll out £2m private security wardens to towns across Leicestershire, as a policing boss labeled the plans a ‘bad idea’.
