Jacinda Ardern’s Memoir Promotion Event

Former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern returned to Wellington this week for her first major public appearance in the city since stepping down as prime minister and leaving New Zealand in 2023. About 1500 people attended the sold-out event at the St James Theatre in the central city, which was one stop on Ms Ardern’s speaking tour to promote her memoir A Different Kind of Powe r.

Outside the venue, around 50 protestors held signs and banners to remind the former prime minister of her destructive legacy; in particular, her pushing New Zealanders to take Covid-19 jabs, which led to vaccine injuries. It’s not known if Ms Ardern saw any of the messages herself but her supporters had plenty of time to take in the messages as the queue to enter the theatre moved at snail’s pace.

Banners on display included these: “Safe and effective. Yeah right!” “Safe and effective…apart from these 1291 adverse events of significant interest.” “If you want summer, get vaccinated (MYOCARDITIS).”

I asked a number of protestors why they were there. Pat told me, “We’re here because we don’t want New Zealand politicians to exit the country and think they’ve got away with absolute murder – when it comes to the health of New Zealanders regarding vaccine mandates and also the hideous lockdowns.”

“Jacinda lied and is still lying, and these people need to wake up,” Christine said.

Jo said she was there “for people who have lost their lives, lost their health, lost their livelihoods…Justice has not happened yet.”
